When we first started hitting the farmer’s market circuit in Dallas, one of our first stops was the Underground Market off Lower Greenville. That market is great, I highly recommend anyone checking it out. While it didn’t wind up being one of Poor Vida’s home bases, we did meet some really cool people, including Cole from Fxcking Hot Sauces. Cole was super welcoming, and while talking and swapping hot sauce taste tests, he mentioned how well dry seasonings can fill out the product lineup, especially when you can’t get someone to just eat hot sauce off a spoon. Gears started turning… My friend Joel had already introduced me to a beef rub called Big Bad Beef, so we decided to take a crack at our own super hot version of that. Originally, this was our Ghost Pepper Beef Rub, but after a few refinements, and some expansion of the seasoning line, we landed on a proper name and seasoning blend… Black Phantasma. Ghost Pepper and Black Pepper to light up your beef bark.

This reminds me of Big Bad Beef seasoning, but with a ramped up kick. Very peppery. Makes a killer brisket rub, or a seasoning to make jerky with.
